GarageBand's latest update for the iPad was released on March 10, 2014. The update addressed routine bug fixes. GarageBand turns your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch into a collection of Touch Instruments and a full-featured recording studio — so you can make music anywhere you go. Use Multi-Touch gestures to play a piano, organ, guitar and drums. They sound and play almost like their real counterparts, in addition to letting you tweak recordings later. The app is free to download, however for the full range of instruments, an in-app purchase of $4.99 is required. GarageBand supports Audiobus and Core MIDI which means you can plug-n-play any MIDI digital keyboard and play the Classical Grand Piano.
I've been using GarageBand for over an year now and I'm really impressed with the rich tone of the Classical Grand Piano. With 'sustain' turned ON and the velocity set to cover the entire range, the sound is a pure delight. Check out the intro part of Bohemian Rhapsody, played using my keyboard and the app's Classical Grand. The loop soundpool has a wide, dynamic and rich database of multi-genre high quality seamless loops to back any composition. Check out my first iTunes album - Spiritus, made entirely out of loops and virtual instruments.
